Document Drawing for Ranchos De Taos Oil Painting By Siegfried Hahn The drawing above was done first in pencil reinforced with pen and ink. Watercolor washes were applied to indicate the shadows. The document drawing and a watercolor sketch (for the color notation)were done on location. These were referred to by the artist in the studio while painting the large oil landscape of Ranchos De Taos.
